Quality Greens Kitchen ("QGK") is a startup, with locations in Downtown Brooklyn and Hoboken. We aim to merge the worlds of fast-casual and fine dining, positioning us to compete with several of the country’s hottest fast-casual concepts.

QGK services the broader NY Metro area via our Catering business, with a client list that includes over two dozen Fortune 500 C-suites/executive teams, along with elite professional sports franchises. Since opening, QGK has been recognized with several awards/recognitions, most notably:

- Hoboken Chamber of Commerce - New Business of the Year (2018)
- Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce - Best of BK Showcase (2024); 1 of 2 awarded in the F&B category

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Director of Culinary/Corporate Executive Chef to manage both stores, expand our menu / coordinate new menu launch execution, grow our business (incl. catering vertical) and position us for further expansion.

This role offers a rare and unique opportunity to get in on the ground level of a promising new concept, poised for growth. As our #1 employee, significant advancement opportunities may be available, as we aim to expand our reach and build one of the nation’s leading “fine-casual” restaurants.

The role is ideally suited for an ambitious and seasoned Managing Chef whose skillsets dovetail creative culinary R&D with sharp business acumen and strong execution.

Note: this is not a 40-hour/week role. We are looking for someone who thinks and works like an owner – who is willing/able to go all-in on their work, substantially impact a young brand, and help build this business into a larger company, for which he/she could share in the rewards.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage both kitchen staff and front-of house (i.e. counter servers) to ensure efficient operation and high-quality food production.
Oversee food preparation processes to maintain consistency, quality, and cost control of all dishes served.
Perform culinary R&D, project manage new menu launches from ideation through execution.
Work alongside marketing teams to scale up the operation.
Supervise catering production and planning, ensuring all food is prepared and presented to perfection.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, while adhering to health and safety regulations. Maintain A-ratings with the DOH
Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen and FOH staff. Oversee hiring/firing of staff across two locations.

Qualifications:

Experience as a Corporate Executive Chef, Director of Culinary, or single-unit Executive Chef at first-rate fine dining establishments.
Strong background in catering and restaurant management preferred.
Proven supervising experience leading culinary teams in fast-paced environments.
In-depth knowledge of food production processes, menu planning, and kitchen management principles.
Familiarity with banquet experience, dietary accommodations, inventory management, and food safety regulations.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and ensure smooth operations from kitchen to service areas.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
