Here are the minimum qualifications you will need as a Fire Inspector Service Technician
- High school diploma or GED
- EL06 REQUIRED
- 2+ year(s) of experience installing and/or servicing intrusion, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV security systems with basic understanding of electronics, wiring, local and national codes
- Valid state driver’s license without restrictions
- Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
It would be GREAT if you had these qualifications, but they are not required:
- 06 Electrical License
- Technical aptitude and basic understanding of electronics, wiring, local and national codes

Data TechnicianResponsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
- Install and support network infrastructure, including data racks, patch panels, cable management systems, and equipment cabinets.
- Install and service wireless access points (WAPs), network switches, and other low-voltage network devices.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings to complete installations accurately.
- Perform cable testing, certification, labeling, and documentation in accordance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot network cabling and connectivity issues using appropriate test equipment.
- Install and support security-related systems including IP cameras, access control devices, and other network-connected equipment as needed.
- Conduct site surveys to determine cable pathways, equipment locations, and installation requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable electrical and low-voltage codes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Data Technician, Low Voltage Technician, Cable Installer, or related field preferred.
- Experience installing and terminating copper and fiber optic cabling.
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) and best installation practices.
- Familiarity with network hardware including switches, routers, patch panels, and wireless access points.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and construction documents.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, cable testing equipment, and certification testers.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely work on ladders, lifts, and in commercial construction environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing.
- Experience installing IP surveillance, access control, and other low-voltage systems.
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as it relates to low-voltage installations.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
