Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a Production Engineering Technician to support the production department by quickly identifying and troubleshooting routine equipment, process, and material issues. This is a hands‑on, floor‑facing role that requires strong mechanical aptitude, good communication with operators and engineers, and the ability to drive small projects from problem identification to durable corrective action.

Engineering Technician Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve common production-line issues to minimize downtime.
Respond to production support requests and document problems, action taken, and outcome.
Perform routine daily equipment checks and first level preventive maintenance tasks and assist production team with scheduled PMs as assigned.
Ensure production lines have required consumables, spare parts, tooling, labels, gauges, and equipment prior to start of shift start; maintain and replenish small parts as needed.
Assist with line changeovers and first-article setups; verify tooling, settings and safety devices are correct.
Collaborate with industrial, process and product engineers to investigate root cause for recurring issues and support implementation of corrective actions and process improvements (5S, Kaizen, poka-yoke, standard work).
Support continuous improvement initiatives by proposing small-scope projects, preparing simple cost/benefit notes, and implementing under engineer guidance.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment and participate in 5S activities and safety inspections.
Assist in training new operators on production skills and in developing and improving training materials.

Qualifications

High school level or equivalent; technical training or certificates in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or similar strongly preferred.
2 or more years experience in electronics manufacturing or similar production environments supporting equipment or assembly lines.
Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with root-cause methods (5 Whys, fishbone) preferred.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude including the ability to use hand/power tools, basic measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and read mechanical drawings/assembly diagrams.
Willingness to undergo new training and certifications for assigned areas.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and meet production deadlines.
Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
