Full Job Description

American Custom Metal Fabricating is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Fabrication Estimator to join our growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting complex blueprints, analyzing material requirements, and calculating precise labor costs for custom metal fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge of welding, machining, and assembly with strong analytical skills to provide accurate, competitive quotes that drive company profitability

1st Shift 7:00am-4:30pm

Starting Pay: $25+ per hour, based on experience

Company Overview:

Founded in 2008, American Custom Metal Fabricating operates in the metal fabricating and manufacturing industry, focusing on delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service to meet the evolving needs of its clients.

Job Summary:

Provide accurate pricing, routings and materials from customer supplied blueprints. Work with various departments involved with the manufacturing process of the quoted product. This is a fast paced job and requires a balance of strong technical skills as well as great communication and ability to multitask.

Summary of essential Job functions:

- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents

- Identifies labor, material, and outsourcing requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents

- Figure set-ups and run times based off of customer specs

- Quickly generate accurate estimates of time and costs to build component parts and assemblies

- Quotes that are won will be prepared for the manufacturing departments

- Verify job routings, materials and applicable Requisition Forms at time of Purchase Order

Summary of secondary Job functions:

- Create estimates/quotes for custom metal fabrications

- Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications required

- JobBOSS software experience is a plus

- Computer skills with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook

- Blueprint reading

- Fabrication and welding knowledge

- Must be able to work as a team or individually without constant supervision

- Ability to stay self motivated and work well in a team atmosphere

- Must be able to do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

- Must have strong attention to detail

- Strong communication and organizational skills.
