Job Summary

Blythefield Country Club, renowned for its rich history and commitment to excellence, invites talented individuals to join our dynamic culinary team. As a prep cook, you will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a fast-paced, upscale dining & banquet environment. With a focus on quality and creativity, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our esteemed members and guests. A passion for food and beverage is required, as well as the desire to work in and foster a professional and positive environment.

Job Tasks/Duties

Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and specifications, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
Coordinate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to plan and prioritize daily tasks and production schedules.
Monitor food levels and replenish supplies as needed to maintain efficient workflow.
Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures, including temperature monitoring, storage, and labeling.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including equipment, storage areas, and refrigeration units.
Assist with the receiving and storage of food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and inventory management.
Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper use of kitchen equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations during service hours.
Participate in menu development and recipe testing as directed by the culinary leadership team.
Support special events and banquet functions by preparing and plating dishes according to event specifications.
Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate and timely food service.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Attending training sessions and staff meetings as required by management.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
Understands and consistently follows proper sanitation practices including those for personal hygiene.
Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Executive Chef

Licenses and Special Requirements

Food safety certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
Continuous repetitive motions.
Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.

Education and/or Experience

Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and a strong Food & Beverage background
