SUMMARY

The Warehouse Manager plays an important role towards operational excellence by managing and expediting the shipping and receiving of goods and materials while ensuring the efficient and organized accountability and storage of the same. Using industry knowledge and best practices this role streamlines warehouse activities to drive and align with production requirements. This individual sets warehouse performance standards, engages and inspires employees’ performance, while aligning the department to achieve organizational commitments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Driven by customer commitments, ensures the warehouse operates at peak efficiency through supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management and shipping requirements.
Ensures organized product and material storage methodologies to ensure quality, employee safety and production efficiencies are established and maintained.
Coaches, trains and mentors a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures while complying with legal regulations.
Takes ownership of and executes the inventory management function to include cycle counts, raw materials, packaging, finished products and WIP.
Collaborates cross-functionally with internal departments and external contacts to achieve objectives.
Plans and coordinates inter-company transfers and deliveries of supplies and raw materials to support daily production schedules.
Leads warehouse processes through productivity, inventory program, asset preservation/reliability, and cost reduction while consistently meeting and exceeding quality standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or related work experience
2+ years of demonstrated warehousing experience
2+ years prior management experience
Strong employee relations, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
Strong technical, problem solving, planning and process skills
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in consumer package products or similar industry

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Warehouse Team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge and experience using MAS or related ERP system preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn other application software essential to performing job tasks.
