Requirements;

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Two years’ experience in eye care, with ophthalmology experience strongly preferred.

3. Preferred COA/COT, but will train and financially support certification & continuing education.

4. Reliable transportation to the 9202 North Meridian location and ability to travel to other satellite locations as needed.

5. Knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communication and Patient Care

Completes a detailed patient history including past medical history, family medical history, medication history, and chief complaint.
Informs patients of the purpose of all tests personally performed, and how the patient will be affected during the tests.

Performs accurate and consistent documentation and tasks to include:

EMR chart documentation including histories and chief complaint
Refractions, Lensometry- manual and/or automated, Topography/Keratometry, Visual Acuity Testing, Tonometry- applanation and Tonopen, Visual Fields, Amsler Grid, Pupil Exams, Schirmer’s Tear Testing, Ultrasound A-scan, B-Scan, EOMs/Motility, Accommodation evaluation, Minimal external evaluation and slit-lamp examination, IOL Master, OCT
Patient Instructions and education
Fundus photography
Performs duties consistent with an ophthalmic scribe
Performs autoclaving and maintenance of instrument sterility.
Instrument Maintenance; troubleshoots instruments as necessary.
Assists the physician with minor in-office procedures
Maintain and stock exam rooms
Prepares for COA/COT exam
