Full Job Description

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Customer Support Associate to join the Riverhawk team. This is an opportunity to join a well-established local company and contribute to the success of the business operations for our customers who depend on us for industrial supplies. Our Customer Support team assists with questions from our customers about their existing orders, and coordinates with our Sales, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams as needed. A core part of this role is working behind the scenes with carriers, vendors, and our sales team to keep orders moving, catch transit issues before they become customer-facing problems, and hit delivery deadlines. This may occasionally involve walking through our warehouse to check on order status or locate product. You will also take on tasks related to supporting our sales team, including troubleshooting customer issues and managing existing orders. This role provides on-the-job training for core processes, but relevant experience in required responsibility areas is a plus.

Key responsibilities for Customer Support Associate:

- Quickly respond to customer requests for post-order information. Typical requests come in over email or the phone, and include questions about order ETAs, returns, documents, or delivered product

- Monitoring key information relating to customer orders including tracking shipments to ensure delivery, reviewing backordered items and reaching out to vendors for updated ETAs, and flagging delayed or lost shipments to the Sales team

- Proactively manage transit issues by coordinating with carriers, vendors, and salesmen to keep orders on schedule. This includes tracing shipments, resolving delivery exceptions, following up on stalled freight, and escalating recurring carrier problems

- Following up with customers to ensure their issues were resolved and expectations were met

- Using company tools (e.g., Notion, Claude) to track customer and vendor issues

- Potential to expand responsibilities across accounting, purchasing, sales and other customer support areas over time with demonstrated success

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills and abilities:

- Passion for helping customers and eager to interact with customers on a daily basis over the phone and through email; prior work experience in customer facing role (e.g., Customer Support, Customer Service, Customer Success) is preferred

- Ability to demonstrate genuine understanding of customer frustrations and respond with compassion to customer issues

- Strong cross-team collaboration, often working with multiple different teams to gather information and resolve customer issues

- Excellent and professional written and oral communication skills

- Flexibility to grow within our fast-changing and growing company, and willingness to pivot responsibilities as business needs shift

- Ability to remain calm and professional, even while dealing with difficult customer situations

- Ability to problem solve to find answers quickly and resolve customer questions or issues

- Extremely organized, and detailed-oriented

- Strong work ethic and ability to self-motivate to complete tasks

- Self-directed and able to follow established processes (SOPs), while demonstrating time management and multi-tasking skills

- Ability to build rapport and relationships with customers and vendors

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle surges in customer support volume

- Team player who brings a positive attitude and fosters a supportive work environment

- Strong technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook; experience with Notion, Slack, Front, Claude and/or Inform is preferred

Requirements

A high school diploma is required and a four-year degree is preferred. Applicants must consent to a background check and drug screening.

Schedule and Compensation

This is an hourly role with a pay range between $17-$21/hour, with the opportunity over time to earn more based on company and individual performance.

Our typical work hours are Monday- Friday 8am-5pm at our Mulberry, FL location.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
