POSITION TITLE: RETAIL SALES MANAGER

REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER

TYPE & LOCATION: FULL TIME SALARY POSITION. LAUREL FOODS PLANT, HILLSBORO, OR.

COMPANY / POSITION SUMMARY:

Laurel Foods is a growing specialty nut manufacturer located in the fertile Willamette Valley of Oregon. We specialize in a variety of Premium Oregon Hazelnut products, both in bulk and in consumer-packaged goods. Our 28,000 square-foot facility is in the rural farming community of Laurel, Oregon - just south of Hillsboro. We strive to make the highest quality products that look and taste great. The company is looking for a Retail Sales Manager to increase the market presence and sales of our retail product line. This is an opportunity to join a growing company with a collaborative work culture and contribute directly to the overall success of the business. The right candidate will be a team player focused on growth and development.

The Retail Sales Manager will drive and grow sales efforts for all Laurel Foods retail products. This position will interact directly with customers throughout all phases of the sales process: lead generation/qualification, cold calling, product demonstrations, customer conversion, managing customer relationships, and reporting. Being successful requires a mixture of both building and maintaining customer relationships and consistently seeking new business opportunities. Expectation for this position is to grow the sales channel and build/develop the Retail Sales Team. Success in this role will be defined by growth in this sales channel through individual contribution and overall company growth through team collaboration.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· Highly developed leadership skills with the ability to build, lead, and develop a team.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate product details and connect easily with customers.

· Strong negotiation and presentation skills.

· Ability to effectively collaborate within the organization as well as work independently.

· Passionate about growth and sales.

· Prior experience in consumer-packaged food sales is strongly preferred.

· Flexibility and adaptability to changes in territory coverage as business grows.

· Able to work occasional weekends and overnight stays as required.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality.

· Willingness to travel 25% of the time or more; must have a valid US state issued driver's license.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

· 4+ years of outside sales experience required.

· Experience with building and management of a team is preferred.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and CRM software.

DUTIES of the RETAIL SALES MANAGER include:
· Research, prospect, and qualify leads following sales strategy developed with General Manager.

· Triage/organize qualified leads by relevance, fit, and geography.

· Maintain organized list of potential and qualified leads for periodic review with General Manager.

· Gather product feedback from prospects/customers and share with internal team members as necessary.

· Maintain industry and product-specific knowledge at a detailed level, staying current with industry/product trends to identify potential improvements in sales.

· Actively engage with qualified leads and convert to active customers using strong product knowledge and provided sales tools, collaborating with team members to achieve better results.

· Prepare and present samples to customers.

· Arrange and coordinate meetings with potential customers.

· Participate in exhibitions or trade shows on behalf of the company as needed.

· Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services.

· Negotiate and close deals, with oversight from General Manager as required.

· Build and maintain strong customer relationships and act as point of contact for established clients by providing information and support as needed.

· Maintain excellent quality customer service.

· Continually gather feedback from customers to share with internal team.

· Complete, submit, and review sales/activity reports to the General Manager in a timely manner.

· Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data/information in an organized manner.

· Document and update client/lead interactions through Customer Relationship Management tools.

· Track and manage expenses related to sales activities.

· Develop and recommend strategies aimed at improving the overall effectiveness of the Sales Strategy.
