Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Direct Care Staff member and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring personalized support and compassionate care. In this vital role, you will provide assistance with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, respectful environment for our individuals in their home and in the community. Your energy, empathy, and attention to detail will help create a nurturing atmosphere where individuals feel valued and supported every day. This position offers an engaging opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact on the community.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
Medication administration when needed
Assist our individual with nutritious meal preparation while maintaining a clean and organized environment
Assist individuals participate in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to enhance their quality of life
Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, assisting with cleaning routines, and ensuring safety measures are followed at all times.

Requirements

Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable. Preferably experience working with APD Individuals.
Must be CPR/1st Aide Certified.
Must have Medication Certification or willing to obtain at own expense
Must be able to pass a Level II Background and Local Records check
Must complete an Asstestation of Good Moral Character
Must complete all required training with APD within the 1st 90 days of hire.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is preferred
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members
Valid driver’s license for transportation duties if required for community outings or appointments
Must have a vehicle and valid registration
Ability to lift or move residents safely using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or gait belts if needed.
Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
