Job Summary

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to support the preparation of sterile medications in a cleanroom environment. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety through strict adherence to aseptic technique and regulatory standards, including USP <797> and <800> guidelines. The ideal candidate works well with others, provides excellent customer service, and is committed to supporting pharmacists in delivering safe and efficient patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare sterile compounded medications (e.g., IV admixtures, syringes, TPN) under the supervision of a pharmacist
Perform aseptic technique in ISO-classified cleanroom environments (IV hood, isolator)
Maintain compliance with USP <797> and <800> standards
Perform cleaning and disinfection of cleanroom and equipment
Accurately label, package, and store compounded medications
Maintain detailed compounding logs and documentation
Manage inventory of sterile supplies and medications
Perform routine quality assurance tasks (e.g., environmental monitoring, temperature logs)
Assist with hazardous drug handling per safety protocols (if applicable)

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
Active Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure in Mississippi required
Two years sterile compounding experience strongly preferred
Certification (CPhT) preferred
Knowledge of USP <797> / <800> standards preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to work in PPE (gown, gloves, mask, etc.) for prolonged periods
Manual dexterity for precise compounding tasks
