Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands on, results driven Operations Manager to lead and support a critical manufacturing turnaround initiative. This role is responsible for stabilizing operations, improving performance, driving operational excellence, and fostering a strong safety first, people focused culture. The ideal candidate will be highly visible on the shop floor, focused on execution, and committed to delivering measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and customer service.

The Operations Manager will work closely with production teams, supervisors, and leadership to implement turnaround strategies, strengthen operational discipline, and ensure sustainable performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Safety, Health & Culture

Champion and reinforce a safety first culture across all manufacturing operations.
Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Lead and actively participate in safety initiatives, including audits, observations, near miss reporting, and corrective action programs.
Foster an environment where safety is a core value and every employee is accountable for maintaining a safe workplace.
Promote employee engagement, accountability, and a positive operational culture.

Operational Leadership & Execution

Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Monitor and drive performance against key operational metrics, including:
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Productivity
Scrap and Rework
On Time Delivery (OTD)
Ensure adherence to established operating standards, procedures, and best practices.
Identify operational issues quickly and implement effective corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
Maintain strong shop floor presence and visibility to support execution and accountability.

Manufacturing Turnaround & Performance Improvement

Support and execute the manufacturing turnaround strategy and operational recovery plans.
Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste within production processes.
Lead and participate in cross functional problem solving initiatives and improvement task forces.
Drive operational discipline and consistency across all production areas.
Ensure sustainable improvements are implemented and maintained.

People Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and support supervisors and frontline employees.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Communicate goals, expectations, and performance standards clearly and consistently.
Support employee training, development, and succession planning efforts.
Encourage employee engagement and participation in operational improvement initiatives.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Track operational performance against production plans and business objectives.
Analyze performance gaps and ensure corrective actions are identified, assigned, and completed.
Provide timely and accurate reporting on operational performance, risks, and improvement activities.
Escalate critical issues and risks appropriately while driving resolution.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

Support the implementation of Integrated Production Systems (IPS) and Operational Excellence methodologies.
Drive initiatives focused on improving efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing productivity.
Promote process standardization, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement through employee involvement and data driven decision making.

Qualifications & Experience

Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
Demonstrated experience managing shop floor operations and daily production activities.
Strong understanding of HSE principles, manufacturing processes, and operational performance metrics.
Experience supporting operational transformation, turnaround, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Six Sigma, or related methodologies is an advantage.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
