Full Job Description

The Wellness Center Nurse provides high-quality, student-centered healthcare services in a university setting. This position supports student health and well-being through clinical care, health education, wellness promotion, and collaboration with campus partners.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, triage, treat, and follow up on acute and chronic health concerns.
Administer medications, immunizations, allergy injections, and other prescribed treatments.
Assist healthcare providers with exams, procedures, and care planning.
Respond to urgent health concerns and coordinate emergency care when necessary.
Educate students on wellness topics, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Maintain confidential medical records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Monitor student immunization compliance and support public health initiatives.
Collaborate with counseling, disability services, residence life, and other campus departments.
Assist academic departments with required medical documentation.
Support clinic operations, including supplies, equipment, and infection control practices.

Qualifications

Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license; BSN preferred.
Minimum two years of nursing experience, preferably in ambulatory care, public health, family practice, college health, or urgent care.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Strong clinical assessment, triage, patient education, and communication skills.
Knowledge of HIPAA, infection prevention, and electronic health records.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Experience working with adolescents and young adults preferred.
