Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical pharmacy and patient care, with experience in various hospital settings including Level I and Level II trauma centers. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient service, ensuring safe medication administration, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
Provide clinical pharmacy services in acute care settings, including ICU and emergency room environments.
Conduct patient assessments to evaluate medication therapy and manage acute pain effectively.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized medication plans for patients.
Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques during IV infusion preparation and administration.
Educate patients and healthcare staff on medication use, side effects, and interactions.
Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient care activities.
Participate in pharmacy residency programs or training of pharmacy students as needed.
Stay updated on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and advancements in pharmacotherapy.

Requirements

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of a pharmacy residency is preferred; post-residency experience is a plus.
Strong clinical pharmacy experience in managed care or hospital settings.
Knowledge of critical care practices, including pediatrics and pain management.
Familiarity with acute care protocols and emergency medicine practices.
Proficient in medication administration techniques, including IV infusion methods.
Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Ability to assess patient needs and provide tailored pharmaceutical care.
