Opening in Fall 2026, Avivo Village Central Minnesota is bringing Avivo's innovative approach to ending homelessness to St. Cloud.
As a Maintenance Specialist, you'll help launch a brand-new program by creating and maintaining safe, welcoming, and functional spaces for residents, staff, and visitors. From preparing housing units for new residents to maintaining facility grounds and responding to maintenance needs, your work will play an essential role in supporting a positive resident experience.
Founding Team Opportunity: Help shape the environment, appearance, and daily operations of Avivo Village Central Minnesota from day one.

Complete painting, drywall, and unit restoration projects to prepare resident spaces

Perform general maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall work

Support the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of housing units, common spaces, and work environments

Move, assemble, and set up furniture and equipment for housing units and offices
-
Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal, landscaping, lawn care, and trash removal
-
Conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns
-
Respond to maintenance requests and occasional facility emergencies
-
Follow safety and security procedures to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff
-
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and external vendors to support facility operations
-
Provide respectful, customer-focused service aligned with Avivo's values

High school diploma or GED
-
At least one year of maintenance, construction, facilities, or trades experience, or a strong willingness and aptitude to learn

Experience using hand tools, power tools, and performing basic repairs

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Ability to work safely on ladders and perform physically demanding tasks

Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills

Professional communication and customer service skills

Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and communities

Basic computer skills, including email, internet, and Microsoft Office

Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel locally as needed
