Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Occupational Nurse to join our healthcare team on a per-diem basis (Saturday and Sunday). In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care within occupational health settings, ensuring the well-being of employees across various industries. Your expertise will support injury prevention, health screenings, and wellness initiatives, fostering a safe and healthy work environment. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on employee health and safety.

Responsibilities

Conduct health assessments, screenings, and physical examinations for employees in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
Manage injury documentation, triage workplace injuries, and coordinate appropriate medical referrals
Assist with ergonomic evaluations, health coaching, and wellness education programs to promote employee well-being
Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth
Support occupational health initiatives by participating in safety audits, infection control practices, and compliance with HIPAA regulations

Experience

Proven experience working as an occupational nurse or in a similar healthcare setting with exposure to workplace health programs
Strong background in medical office procedures, triage, and patient assessment techniques
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and record management
Experience administering injections, performing venipuncture (phlebotomy), and managing acute pain or injury cases
Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and OSHA standards related to occupational health and safety
Prior experience in emergency medicine, critical care environments such as ICU or trauma centers is highly desirable
Ability to handle diverse patient populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care support
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred
