Position Summary
The Senior Process Engineer Advisor is responsible for leading the design, analysis, optimization, and governance of business and technology processes across the organization. This role applies advanced process improvement methodologies, process mapping techniques, quality assurance principles, and organizational change management practices to drive operational excellence and support strategic business objectives.
The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders, facilitating enterprise-wide process initiatives, identifying improvement opportunities, establishing performance metrics, and enabling successful implementation of standardized processes. The role requires strong project management capabilities, stakeholder engagement skills, and experience working in complex, cross-functional environments.
This is a hybrid position requiring the ability to work onsite as needed with prior notice.
Key Responsibilities Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze, document, and evaluate current business and technology processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct assessments of current-state versus future-state capabilities and develop actionable recommendations.
- Lead process redesign and optimization initiatives using industry best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Facilitate process discovery sessions, workshops, and design meetings with business and technical stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain process maps, workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates, and process documentation.
- Apply process modeling methodologies and frameworks, including SIPOC, workflow diagrams, and business process management techniques.
- Establish and maintain process governance standards, quality assurance procedures, guidelines, and controls.
- Monitor process compliance and conduct testing to ensure adherence to approved standards and methodologies.
- Interpret testing results and present findings, recommendations, and improvement plans to senior leadership.
Project & Portfolio Support
- Support enterprise project and portfolio management initiatives through process standardization and optimization.
- Develop implementation strategies and execution plans for new or redesigned processes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployment of process improvements.
- Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and performance metrics.
- Provide post-implementation support to address operational challenges and drive adoption of new processes.
- Track project financials, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Stakeholder Management & Leadership
- Collaborate with executive leadership, business units, operational teams, and technology stakeholders to align process improvement initiatives with strategic objectives.
- Facilitate consensus-building among diverse stakeholder groups and influence decision-making at all organizational levels.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to teams regarding process discipline, continuous improvement, and operational excellence practices.
- Deliver executive presentations, status reports, dashboards, and recommendations.
Training & Change Management
- Support organizational change management efforts associated with process transformation initiatives.
- Develop training materials and facilitate training sessions on new processes, procedures, and tools.
- Promote adoption of standardized methodologies and continuous improvement culture across the organization.
Required QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in process engineering, business process improvement, process analysis, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing processes within project management, portfolio management, business transformation, or operational excellence environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive project management experience, preferably within healthcare, health insurance, or regulated industries.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-level, multi-departmental, or cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience developing and maintaining process documentation, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.

- Strong understanding of Puerto Rico healthcare regulations and health plan operations.
- Experience supporting technology transformation, system implementation, or digital process automation initiatives.

Work Environment
- Hybrid work arrangement (1 to 4 days per week onsite depending on business needs).
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance and be available to work onsite with prior notice.
- Fast-paced environment requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Monday through Friday.
- Typically 40 hours per week.
- Additional evening and weekend hours may be required to support project implementations, technology transitions, and critical business initiatives occurring outside normal business hours.
Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
