Operations Manager

What You Will Do:

Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across multiple facilities.
Establish, implement, and monitor manufacturing policies and procedures related to production, scheduling, shipping, receiving, safety, material handling, and customer satisfaction.
Drive performance across safety, quality, cost, inventory, production, and on-time delivery metrics.
Develop and maintain operational standards for safety, quality, scrap reduction, cost control, and customer service.
Direct preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
Oversee manufacturing schedules, staffing plans, equipment utilization, and production control processes.
Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to support capacity planning and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, hiring, training, employee relations, performance management, and workforce development.
Develop, manage, and monitor plant operating budgets and departmental expenses.
Prepare operational reports, KPIs, and performance analyses to evaluate results against business objectives.
Ensure accurate inventory management and material flow to support production and customer delivery requirements.
Recommend and implement operational improvements that support the company's strategic goals.
Lead and develop a team of managers and supervisors while overseeing approximately 50 union employees.

What Makes You Stand Out:

8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably within a custom job shop or metals manufacturing environment.
Experience managing supervisors and teams within a union manufacturing facility.
Strong background in engineering, operations management, or manufacturing leadership.
Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Proven success in production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and operational performance improvement.
Experience managing large customer contracts and driving customer satisfaction metrics.
Knowledge of manufacturing systems, ERP/MRP platforms, and Microsoft Office.
Experience with heat treating, steel processing, or metal fabrication operations.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership abilities.

Schedule & Travel:

Full-time position.
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Occasional evenings and weekends as business needs require.
Up to 10–25% travel, including occasional overnight travel.
