Contract Psychiatrist (MD/DO) – Part-Time / PRN (In-Person or Remote)

Position Title: Staff Psychiatrist (Independent Contractor - 1099)

Location: Montgomery, AL (Hybrid / Telepsychiatry or On-Site Options Available)

Schedule: Part-Time / PRN (Estimated 4–10 hours per week; Flexible block scheduling)

Compensation: $200.00-250.00 / hour (Commensurate with experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist (MD or DO) to join our clinical team on a part-time contract basis. This role is ideal for a physician seeking flexible hours to complement an existing practice, academic role, or personal schedule.

Our facility is a 30 to 45 day voluntary residential mental health facility in Montgomery, Alabama, serving adults struggling with mood, anxiety, and thought disorders. We provide a supportive, structured environment focused on stabilization, skill-building, and long-term r recovery.

This position offers maximum schedule flexibility—work can be completed on-site or via telehealth, with minimal administrative overhead.

Key Responsibilities

Psychiatric Evaluations: Conduct initial psychiatric admissions evaluations for newly admitted adult residents.
Medication Management: Provide ongoing psychotropic medication evaluation, titration, and management.
Progress Documentation: Complete concise weekly psychiatric progress notes and update treatment plans in a timely manner using our EMR system.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in brief clinical team check-ins with therapists and nursing staff as needed to support resident care.

Qualifications & Requirements

Medical Degree: Unrestricted MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Alabama (Required).
DEA Registration: Active DEA certificate with Alabama schedules.
Specialty: Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry.
Experience: Experience treating adult populations with mood, anxiety, and thought disorders; residential or inpatient experience is a plus.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and conducting secure video visits (if working remotely).
