POSITION SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Clerk will perform administrative and clerical duties for the purchasing department. This position reports to the Purchasing & IT Coordinator.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least two years of clerical experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provides administrative and clerical support to the department.
Types reports, purchase orders, memoranda, and other documents as assigned.
Researches vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.
Establishes and maintains recordkeeping system for purchasing department.
Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to learn purchasing procedures and policies.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Good organizational skills and computer skills are required.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

1. Personal, work and/or school references must indicate dependability, good attendance, and consistent, steady worker, with few or no job-related problems.

2. Must reflect positive attitude toward co-workers and customer personnel.
