Overview

Pacific Dataport Inc., a leading provider of satellite and network solutions, is seeking an experienced Operations & Service Delivery Manager to oversee the operational performance and service delivery of our LEO and GEO satellite and terrestrial networks and associated ground systems. The position is based in Anchorage, Alaska. This role is critical to ensuring reliable, high-quality connectivity for our clients, including Small and Large Commercial businesses, State, Local, and Education (SLED) sectors, as well as support for our Key Reseller partners. The Operations & Service Delivery Manager will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate service delivery, and lead the technical staff, driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Join our team as an Operations Manager, where you will play a crucial role in shaping our operational success and driving the company forward.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of LEO and GEO satellite networks, ground systems, and IP networking infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
Oversee service delivery for clients, including SLED sectors, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and customer expectations.
Supervise and lead a team of technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to maintain a high-performing team.
Monitor and maintain network systems, including Juniper routers and switches, SCADA systems, and network monitoring tools, to ensure optimal functionality.
Coordinate maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of satellite and network infrastructure to minimize downtime and prevent system blackouts.
Collaborate with the engineering team and executive management to implement new services and technologies, supporting the company’s mission to connect underserved areas.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity protocols, particularly for SLED clients.
Provide regular reports on operational performance, service delivery metrics, and customer feedback to senior management.
Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, leveraging innovative solutions to enhance service reliability and efficiency.

Duties

Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's goals.
Manage profit and loss statements to ensure financial health and sustainability.
Supervise team members, providing guidance and support to foster a productive work environment.
Participate in business development efforts to identify new opportunities for growth.
Oversee project management activities, ensuring timely completion of projects within budget.
Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborate with sales teams to develop strategies that increase revenue and market share.
Periodic and as-needed travel to verify the operational condition of company assets and in support of maintenance and new deployment activity.

Skills

Proven management experience with a focus on leadership and team development.
Strong strategic planning abilities to set long-term objectives and actionable plans.
Excellent supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
In-depth knowledge of satellite communications, IP networking, and fiber optic distribution.
Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement techniques.
