Full Job Description

Program Context

Turning Point Recovery Center (TPRC) is committed to addressing a critical gap in New Mexico's behavioral health landscape: the lack of programs that truly integrate mental health and substance use disorder treatment within a single, coordinated continuum of care. Too often, individuals with co-occurring disorders and substance use disorders are served through fragmented systems in which psychiatric care, counseling, peer support, and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) are treated as separate rather than integrated services. This program is designed to change that. The model is built on a 24-hour social model foundation that emphasizes peer community, daily structure, accountability, and shared recovery norms as the connective tissue across all services. Within that framework, clients have access to a six-day-per-week Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) program, MOUD prescribing, psychiatric support, individual & group counseling, and a 28-hour-per-week CPSW/CCSS program, all operating as one coordinated program rather than a collection of separate services.

The Clinical Director will remain actively involved in the clinical direction and development of this program. The Clinical Program Manager is being established to provide dedicated, on-the-ground clinical leadership and oversight.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a licensed, independently practicing clinician with a strong mental health foundation and experience in co-occurring disorders, who can step into a leadership role during the startup and early implementation phase of this program. This is a hands-on role that blends clinical supervision, program development, and coordination across a multidisciplinary team.

Licensure Requirement

Active, unrestricted New Mexico licensure as one of the following is required. These credentials were selected specifically to ensure the ability to practice independently, provide clinical supervision, and bring a strong mental health foundation to a co-occurring program.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Roles & Responsibilities

Program Development & Implementation

Collaborate with the CEO, Clinical Director, Operations Director, and consulting Program Director to develop clinical procedures, policies, and protocols for the 24/7 Supported Co-Occurring Program.
Contribute to the development of group curriculum, treatment workflows, and clinical documentation standards.
Support measurement-informed care implementation and ongoing program evaluation.

Clinical Supervision

Provide individual clinical supervision to clinicians assigned to the program.
Assist in the oversight and supervision of CPSWs and CCSS staff, supporting integration of peer services within the clinical model.
Support staff training in co-occurring treatment, MOUD, and trauma-informed care.
Facilitate weekly interdepartmental treatment team meetings and case consultation.

Clinical Oversight & Coordination

Serve as the clinical point of accountability for the program on a day-to-day basis.
Provide guidance on complex or high-acuity cases and support staff in navigating difficult clinical situations.
Coordinate clinical care across program components including the IDDT program, MOUD, and psychiatric services.
Maintain regular communication with the Clinical Director regarding program progress, clinical concerns, and implementation milestones.

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in co-occurring treatment modalities that address both substances use disorder and mental health diagnoses. Familiarity with evidence-based frameworks commonly used in integrated treatment settings is expected, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and more.
Comfortability with clinical assessment and diagnostic formulation, including apply DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, and use assessment findings to inform individualized treatment planning.
Proficiency in safety planning, crisis intervention, and crisis coordination, including the ability to assess risk, develop safety plans, de-escalate, and coordinate with medical or psychiatric staff when needed.
Strong leadership qualities including clear and consistent communication, flexibility, self-sufficiency, and the ability to hold a calm and steady clinical presence within a fast-moving, startup-phase environment. Must be able to lead by example and foster a collaborative, accountable team culture.
Strong understanding of clinical documentation requirements in a behavioral health setting, with the ability to train, guide, and hold clinicians accountable to documentation standards. This includes progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and any requirements tied to program compliance or funding.
