About Balian Springs

Balian Springs is a Self Care Social Club designed to provide guests with an immersive experience of relaxation, restoration, and exceptional hospitality. Every aspect of our environment is thoughtfully curated to create a clean, safe, and tranquil escape. We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the daily maintenance, operational efficiency, and overall presentation of our property while ensuring our facility consistently meets the highest standards of cleanliness and guest experience.

Position Overview

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of all building systems to ensure Balian Springs remains safe, efficient, and impeccably maintained for both guests and team members. This role leads preventive maintenance programs, manages maintenance staff, coordinates contractors and vendors, and ensures compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

In addition to facility operations, the Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the property's overall cleanliness by overseeing our cleaning and laundry department. This includes conducting routine inspections, monitoring cleaning quality and performance, ensuring all guest-facing and back-of-house areas meet Balian Springs' luxury standards, and collaborating with the housekeeping vendor to address deficiencies and continuously improve cleanliness throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge of commercial building systems who understands that exceptional maintenance and exceptional cleanliness go hand in hand in delivering a world-class guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the daily operations of the Facilities and Maintenance team.
Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pools, boilers, water treatment systems, and mechanical equipment.
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all facility infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, safety, and guest comfort.
Manage the performance of the third-party housekeeping contractor, ensuring all cleaning services meet Balian Springs' luxury standards.
Conduct routine inspections of guest areas, locker rooms, lounges, treatment spaces, pools, saunas, steam rooms, offices, and back-of-house areas to evaluate both facility conditions and cleanliness.
Partner with the housekeeping contractor to identify opportunities for improvement, address performance concerns, and maintain consistent quality throughout the property.
Respond quickly to maintenance issues and coordinate repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers while overseeing project timelines and budgets.
Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, replacement parts, and facility equipment while maintaining cost-effective purchasing practices.
Collaborate closely with Operations, Guest Services, and department leaders to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
Assist with facility renovations, capital improvement projects, and emergency response planning.

Qualifications

3+ years of facilities or engineering management experience in a luxury hotel, spa, resort, wellness facility, commercial property, or similar environment.
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, boilers, pumps, and commercial building operations.
Experience with pool equipment, water treatment systems, saunas, steam rooms, or aquatic facilities is highly preferred.
Experience overseeing housekeeping operations or managing third-party cleaning contractors is strongly preferred.
Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising maintenance teams, vendors, and outside contractors.
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and project management abilities.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to outstanding guest service.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements associated with maintenance operations.
