Full Job Description

Primary Responsibilities Estimating

Review architectural, plumbing, civil, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
Perform complete plumbing quantity takeoffs.
Prepare accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates.
Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Develop competitive bid proposals and bid clarifications.
Identify value engineering opportunities.
Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks when required.

Project Coordination

Assist in coordinating awarded plumbing projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
Coordinate material procurement and deliveries.
Prepare purchase orders and vendor commitments.
Monitor project schedules and assist with manpower planning.
Coordinate with field supervisors to support project execution.
Assist with project documentation and record keeping.
Help track project budgets and job costs.
Prepare and manage change orders.
Assist with Requests for Information (RFIs), Submittals, and closeout documents.
Coordinate inspections, permits, and utility requirements as needed.
Participate in project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and general contractors.

Construction Administration

Maintain organized project files.
Support contract administration.
Assist with monthly progress billing documentation.
Coordinate with accounting regarding billing, change orders, and project documentation.
Track project milestones and deadlines.
Maintain subcontractor and supplier communication.
Help resolve project issues before they impact schedule or budget.

Assisting company leadership with special projects.
Supporting project managers and field personnel.
Helping improve estimating and project management systems.
Assisting with standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation, and process improvements.
Coordinating with clients and general contractors.
Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of plumbing estimating experience preferred.
Experience estimating new construction residential and commercial plumbing projects.
Project coordination or construction administration experience preferred.
Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, installation methods, and sequencing.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of California Plumbing Code and construction practices.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented.
Professional attitude with strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Software Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

FastPIPE
Bluebeam Revu
Autodesk Build / PlanGrid
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Outlook
Procore
QuickBooks (a plus)

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Experience:
