Full Job Description

Job Summary:

The Accounting Assistant assists with preparing deliverables critical to accounting close cycles, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP. The AS supports invoicing and costing and manages payables. Position is located in Cranberry Township are, not on the busline. This position is currently short term/temporary.

Pay rate: $20-$22/hr.

Hours: Monday - Friday, daylight hours

Essential Functions

Communicates daily with the Press team about job tracking and invoicing.
Creates invoices in Printstream.
Enters freight costs into the job costing ledger.
Distributes invoices and samples to customers via mail.
Codes, enters, processes, and consults with the Plan Controller to pay vendor invoices in a timely manner.
Maintains vendor information within the accounting system.
Prepares year end reporting for 1099s.
Creates weekly aging reports.
Cuts checks and creates ACH payments to vendors.
Uses Docuware to store and track invoices that need to be vouchered in the system, discrepancies that need approvals, and checks cut to vendors.
Answers external department questions as it relates to Accounts Payable (AP) coding.
Researches issues with AP invoices and consults with purchasing agents to rectify them.
Reconciles Accounts Payable, monthly, to the General Ledger and runs supporting reports.

Additional Responsibilities

Completes additional assignments and special projects from the Plant Controller as needed.
Demonstrates behavior consistent with our values and the Code of Conduct.
Learns and adheres to all information technology and data security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Learns and adheres to rules and established policies for workplace health and safety.
Adheres to all other policies and procedures.
Completes all required compliance training on time and in good faith.

Qualifications

Associate’s or bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
General accounting ERP software and Excel experience
Proficiency with typing and 10-key
Manufacturing experience preferred
