We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team as a Cell Phone, Tablet, and Laptop Repair Technician within the Technical Services / Repair Department. Reporting directly to the Repair Manager or Store Manager, this position plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction through expert diagnostics and repairs of a variety of electronic devices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for technology, possess advanced troubleshooting abilities, and uphold our company’s commitment to the highest standards of quality and service.

Hours 20-40 hours a week.

Job Summary

As a Repair Technician, you will be responsible for conducting hands-on repairs and diagnostics on mobile phones, tablets, and laptops across various operating systems, including iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS. Your technical acumen, attention to detail, and ability to deliver prompt and reliable service will directly impact customer loyalty and the reputation of our Technical Services Department. We are searching for someone who is not only technically proficient but also committed to a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair a wide range of hardware and software issues in smartphones, tablets, and laptops, including devices running on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS platforms.
Perform component-level repairs such as screen replacements, battery swaps, charging port repairs, and water damage treatments, ensuring all work meets company and industry standards.
Utilize soldering equipment and specialized tools for intricate repairs and board-level fixes when necessary.
Conduct data backups, restores, and comprehensive troubleshooting of both OS and software applications to ensure the integrity and functionality of customer devices.
Provide clear and accurate repair estimates to customers and effectively communicate the procedures, timeframes, and costs involved.
Maintain detailed service records including diagnostics performed, parts used, and customer interactions using designated record-keeping or CRM systems.
Ensure all workstations remain clean, organized, and compliant with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and workplace safety protocols.
Monitor and manage the inventory of spare parts and tools, submitting requests for supplies as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
Stay informed about the latest device models, repair trends, tools, and technologies within the industry to enhance service capabilities.
Collaborate with team members to problem-solve complex repair cases and share knowledge to foster a supportive work environment.
Deliver outstanding customer service at every stage of the repair process, from drop-off to post-repair support.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Apple ACMT, or OEM manufacturer training) are strongly preferred.
A minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on experience in the repair of electronics such as mobile phones, tablets, or laptops.
Proficiency with small hand tools, soldering equipment, and diagnostic/testing software applicable to device repair.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers and to document repair activities clearly.
Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a high-paced, customer-facing environment.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a collaborative team.
Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, and a keen eye for detail in all aspects of work.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a retail repair environment or at an authorized service center is highly desirable.
Familiarity with parts sourcing, supply chain management, and inventory control systems.
Basic knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) and customer relationship management (CRM) software systems.

Additional certifications in relevant fields or specialized device training.

Proficiency in software troubleshooting across multiple operating systems including macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.
Experience with computer hardware components and the ability to perform repairs using hand tools.
Familiarity with retail sales processes is a plus, enhancing customer interaction skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to effectively assist customers.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Previous experience in mobile device repair is preferred but not mandatory.
