Position Summary

InjuryRx Pharmacy is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to support our fast-growing closed-door pharmacy specializing in personal injury medications. This role is ideal for an experienced retail pharmacy technician who enjoys working in a structured, team-oriented environment and takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional patient service.

The technician will support all aspects of pharmacy operations, including prescription intake, data entry, inventory management, prescription fulfillment, shipping, and customer service. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of retail pharmacy workflow, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

Prescription Processing

Receive and process new prescriptions in the pharmacy management system.
Enter and update patient demographics and prescription information accurately.
Review prescriptions for completeness and identify missing information for pharmacist review.
Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
Maintain accurate electronic patient records.

Inventory Management

Receive and accurately check incoming medication shipments.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels and assist with weekly inventory replenishment.
Rotate stock using first-expire, first-out (FEFO) principles.
Monitor medication expiration dates and remove outdated inventory.
Assist with inventory counts and controlled substance inventories.
Organize medication storage areas to maximize efficiency and compliance.
Report inventory discrepancies to the Pharmacist-in-Charge.

Prescription Fulfillment

Accurately select, count, label, and package medications.
Prepare prescriptions for shipment.
Ensure all required documentation accompanies each prescription.
Maintain clean and organized workstations.

Shipping & Logistics

Package prescriptions using approved shipping materials.
Generate shipping labels and coordinate daily outbound shipments.
Track shipments and resolve delivery issues when necessary.
Maintain shipping supply inventory.

Customer Service

Assist patients with prescription status inquiries.
Answer incoming telephone calls professionally.
Escalate clinical questions to the pharmacist.
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, medical offices, and other internal departments.

Compliance & Quality

Follow all federal, state, and company policies and procedures.
Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
Support Georgia Board of Pharmacy, and accreditation requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Assist with maintaining pharmacy cleanliness and organization.

Qualifications

Required

Active Georgia Pharmacy Technician Registration.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of retail pharmacy experience.
Strong understanding of retail pharmacy workflow.
Experience with pharmacy management software.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Preferred

National certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
Experience with mail-order or closed-door pharmacy operations.
Experience with inventory management and purchasing.
Experience using DRX or similar pharmacy management systems.
Experience working in high-volume pharmacy environments.
