Position Summary:
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, developing and implementing marketing strategies and activities for our energy efficiency efforts with utility and government clients in Illinois. Each day we help our clients and communities use less energy, save money and help the environment through the development, implementation and refinement of sound marketing and outreach initiatives. We are looking for someone who is as passionate about our work as we are and has the skills and attitude to be successful.
This position will report to the Sr. Marketing Manager and interface closely with graphic design, program managers, operations, outreach teams, clients, and vendor partners. This role will be responsible for writing and routing email campaigns for residential or business offerings, updating marketing collateral and co-branded contractor pieces, reviewing materials for program accuracy and compliance before client approval, writing initial drafts of copy for utility partners, ensuring brand guidelines and standards are being met, provide supporting outreach to Program Allies or community partners, monitoring campaign results and preparing status reports and supporting presentation needs for client and Program Ally meetings and events.

- Work directly with the Sr. Marketing Manager and client to implement marketing and communications plans to educate customers about energy efficiency and drive participation in energy efficiency programs.
- Work with the client and subcontractors to develop on- and offline-marketing materials including website content, direct mailers, email communications, brochures, testimonials, technical fact sheets, incentive applications forms, email and direct mail campaigns, Program Ally newsletters, etc.
- Provide written reports and updates in client facing meetings (may be virtual or in-person).
- Project manage all elements of assigned marketing projects and work closely with graphic design team to develop brand compliant materials.
- Prepare weekly agendas to communicate project statuses to internal and external teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field of study from an accredited college, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience working in a marketing, advertising, public relations agency or consulting environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled at cross-functional communication and a team player.
- Demonstrated experience representing diverse cultures in marketing projects and campaigns.
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
- Demonstrated experience implementing marketing communication plans, with the ability to manage and execute collateral development, email and direct mail campaigns, advertising, and social media projects.
- Proficient use of computer and online tools, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and social networking sites.
- Must be available for some client-required evening or weekend events.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with copy writing, editing, and proofreading is strongly preferred.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 10% locally and throughout the Ameren Illinois territory.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Noise levels are typically low to moderate.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the salary information represents the job level minimum and the job level maximum. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
A team member may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. Walker-Miller Energy Services offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Compensation Range: $63,000-$90,000 annually
