IT Instructor / Administrator – Multi-Site
Primary Location: CALC Institute of Technology – Maryland Heights, MO
Additional Locations: Alton, IL & O’Fallon, IL (as needed)

Job Summary
CALC Institute of Technology is seeking a dynamic, multi-talented IT Instructor/Administrator to teach across our Coding & Programming, Cybersecurity Technician, Network Engineer, and Business Administration programs (as listed on www.calc.edu), while also serving as a key driver of organizational IT initiatives. This role is not limited to the classroom – you will create and maintain programs, develop new programs, lead IT support for the entire campus, troubleshoot technical issues, and spearhead new technology rollouts as the institute evolves. You will also play an active role in recruitment and local marketing to meet enrollment benchmarks. Candidates should have an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (or certifications with corroborating experience) and familiarity with COE and IBHE standards.
ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Instruction
- Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in:
- Coding & Programming: Python, Java, .NET, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, MERN stack
- Cybersecurity Technician: Network security, threat protection, secure infrastructure, ethical hacking
- Network Engineer: Hardware basics, routing, switching, tech support, CompTIA A+/Network+ preparation
- Business Administration: Office administration, Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications, accounting, QuickBooks
- Develop and update curriculum, syllabi, and course materials to align with industry standards and COE/IBHE requirements.
- Conduct program reviews and self-assessments to maintain accreditation and program status.
- Utilize Orbund SIS for student records, attendance, grading, and reporting.
- Support online and remote students with virtual lab access, LMS navigation, and instructional needs.
Program Creation & Maintenance
- Create new programs from concept to launch – including curriculum design, syllabus formulation, resource planning, and accreditation alignment.
- Maintain current programs through continuous improvement, industry feedback, and compliance updates.
- Lead program review cycles to ensure ongoing COE and IBHE compliance.
- Develop and deliver trainings for new rollouts – whether new software, hardware, or instructional tools – to staff and faculty.
IT Support & Organizational Initiatives
- Serve as the primary IT support contact for the campus, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for staff and students.
- Lead new IT initiatives as the organization evolves – including infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, security enhancements, and technology adoption.
- Manage and maintain IT resources: classroom computers, servers, networking equipment, and software lab environments.
- Coordinate with vendors and administrators to plan and implement technology improvements.
- Create documentation, training materials, and support guides for new systems and processes.
Recruitment & Community Engagement
- Represent CALC Institute at local high schools, community colleges, career fairs, and other partner sites to promote IT and business programs.
- Build relationships with employers, workforce development boards, and educational institutions to create enrollment pipelines.
- Participate in open houses, information sessions, and campus tours to speak with prospective students.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program growth and institutional success.
QualificationsRequired
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field OR equivalent industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+; Cisco CCNA; CEH; CISSP; Microsoft MOS/MCSE; AWS) with relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an IT or business field.
- COE and IBHE experience – familiarity with accreditation documentation, self-studies, and program review processes.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, syllabus formulation, and program creation.
- Strong proficiency in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js) and programming languages (Python, Java, C++).
- Solid understanding of networking, cybersecurity fundamentals, and business applications.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard and student information systems like Orbund.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot IT issues and lead technology initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to motivate adult learners.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between campuses.
Preferred
- Prior teaching or training experience in adult education or career college settings.
- Experience creating and delivering staff training for new technology rollouts.
- Familiarity with virtual lab environments (VMware, VirtualBox, cloud sandboxes).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
- Experience in workforce development or career placement.
