No formal Medical Assisting Certification is required—we value enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient experiences.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant at Meramec Dermatology, you'll play an essential role in creating an exceptional patient experience while supporting our physicians and clinical team. Responsibilities include:

Welcome and room patients, gather medical histories, and accurately document information in our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and in-office surgeries.
Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and medical equipment.
Prepare and administer injections, medications, and other treatments as directed by the physician.
Assist physicians during surgical and dermatologic procedures.
Obtain clinical photographs to support patient care and treatment plans.
Communicate with patients by phone and through the electronic medical record regarding their care and follow-up instructions.
Provide compassionate, respectful care to every patient while fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
Assist with prior authorizations, prescription requests, and other clinical documentation as needed.
Monitor, stock, and maintain inventory of medical supplies and office materials.
Adhere to all healthcare regulations and safety standards, including HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
Support the practice by performing additional clinical and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

We're looking for a motivated, patient-focused individual who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. Ideal candidates will have:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Dermatology experience preferred, but not required—we're happy to train the right candidate!
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Basic knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, and clinical procedures.
A dependable, reliable, and professional work ethic.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
Comfort using computers, tablets, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
The ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment.
A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and the ability to accept feedback and continuously grow.

Schedule

Our office hours are Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Enjoy a consistent daytime schedule with no evenings, weekends, or major holidays.*
This is an on-site position at our St. Peters office. Remote work is not available.

*Holiday schedule may vary based on office operations.
