Join the team at TOUS les JOURS, an authentic French-Asian bakery! We are looking for a reliable, energetic Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in our West Des Moines location.

At TOUS les JOURS, we believe that skills can be taught, but a great attitude is a choice. We are looking for team players who bring positivity, a "can-do" spirit, and a sense of urgency to the kitchen every single day.

Job Responsibilities

Production Support: Assist bakers and cake decorators with ingredient preparation, weighing supplies, and basic food assembly.
Inventory Management: Organize freezer and refrigerator stocking; ensuring all ingredients are stored correctly and rotated (FIFO).
Cleaning & Sanitation: Maintain a sparkling clean kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and disposing of waste according to health safety standards.
Organization: Keep the storage areas, walk-ins, and prep stations tidy and efficient to help the team move faster.

What We Are Looking For

The Right Attitude: We value candidates who are proactive, eager to learn, and maintain a positive outlook even during busy rushes. A "no task is too small" mindset is essential.
Cultural & Team Fit: You will work closely with our Kitchen Manager in a multicultural environment. We need someone who is patient, an effective listener, and comfortable working with a diverse team where different communication styles are valued.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs (handling heavy freezer inventory).
Reliability: Punctuality is critical. Our bakers rely on you to get the day started right.
Experience: Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but attitude and culture fit are our top priorities.
