Lead Assistant (LA)
Position Summary
The Lead Assistant (LA) is a skilled remodeling professional and future Project Lead in training.
This position exists to support the successful execution of residential remodeling projects while developing the technical, leadership, communication, and organizational skills necessary to advance into a Project Lead role.
The Lead Assistant works directly under the guidance of a Project Lead and assists in the daily execution of remodeling projects while continually expanding their knowledge of construction methods, project sequencing, client communication, quality standards, and company procedures.
This role is intended for individuals who are passionate about residential remodeling, committed to personal growth, and motivated to build a long-term career with Remodel Me Today.
Successful Lead Assistants demonstrate strong craftsmanship, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, attention to detail, accountability, and a desire to become trusted leaders within the organization.
The Lead Assistant reports directly to the Project Lead and indirectly to the Production Manager.

Core Responsibilities
Craftsmanship & Project Execution
- Assist the Project Lead in executing all phases of residential remodeling projects.
- Perform work in accordance with project plans, specifications, building codes, manufacturer requirements, and RMT standards.
- Maintain a commitment to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.
- Produce quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations.
- Ask questions and seek clarification whenever uncertain about project requirements or installation procedures.
- Support efficient project progress by maintaining productivity and minimizing rework.
- Demonstrate a solutions-oriented mindset when challenges arise.
Learning & Professional Development
- Continuously develop technical knowledge across all remodeling disciplines including carpentry, trim, cabinetry, drywall, tile, flooring, plumbing, electrical, and related trades.
- Seek opportunities to expand skills and responsibilities.
- Leverage the experience and knowledge of fellow team members to accelerate professional growth.

Project Support
- Follow the direction and guidance of the Project Lead in all aspects of project execution.
- Assist with jobsite preparation, material handling, organization, and project completion activities.
- Help maintain project schedules by ensuring assigned tasks are completed efficiently and correctly.
- Support material organization and inventory management on active projects.
- Assist in identifying potential issues before they become larger project challenges.
- Contribute to maintaining productive, organized, and professional jobsites.
Quality Control
- Perform work in accordance with RMT quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Participate in ongoing quality inspections throughout project execution.
- Assist in identifying deficiencies, punch list items, and potential warranty concerns.
- Take ownership of correcting mistakes and learning from them.
- Help ensure projects are delivered with minimal callbacks and outstanding client satisfaction.
Client Experience
- Represent Remodel Me Today professionally at all times.
- Build trust with clients through courtesy, professionalism, communication, and respect for their home.
- Answer routine client questions within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
- Direct project decisions, schedule changes, scope modifications, pricing questions, and client concerns to the Project Lead.
- Support the Project Lead in creating an exceptional remodeling experience that earns client referrals and five-star reviews.
- Maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanor while on all project sites.
Documentation & Communication
- Complete daily JobTread logs documenting personal work activities.
- Upload quality photographs that accurately document project progress.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, observations, and project activities.
- Communicate project concerns, safety issues, client concerns, or unforeseen conditions promptly to the Project Lead.
- Develop proficiency in JobTread documentation standards as preparation for future Project Lead responsibilities.
Teamwork & Leadership Development
- Contribute positively to team culture and jobsite morale.
- Demonstrate respect toward clients, coworkers, trade partners, and vendors.
- Support and encourage less experienced team members when appropriate.
- Lead by example through professionalism, work ethic, accountability, and attitude.

Work Hours & Schedule
The Lead Assistant is a full-time hourly position.
Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., with additional hours as required to support project needs.
Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. While Remodel Me Today values work-life balance, team members are expected to remain productive, engaged, and focused while on the clock.
Occasional flexibility may be required to address project-specific needs or emergency situations.
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements described here are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
The employee must be able to:
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated surfaces.
- Stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
- Perform physically demanding construction activities on a daily basis.
- Work in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
