As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Production Pattern Maker to become an integral part of our team.
Why This Role Matters
As our Production Pattern Maker, you'll be the technical expert responsible for ensuring every pattern, marker, and specification is accurate, production-ready, and optimized for manufacturing.
This isn't simply a pattern-making position.
You'll play a vital role in improving manufacturing efficiency, supporting new product development, enhancing garment fit, and helping maintain the quality standards that have built Benchmark FR's reputation throughout the safety industry.
Your work will directly impact production, product quality, customer satisfaction, and ultimately the safety of thousands of workers across North America.
What You'll Do
You'll own the complete production pattern process by:
- Creating, maintaining, and revising digital production patterns
- Developing accurate grade rules and production markers
- Managing pattern revisions from fitting through production release
- Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Working closely with Operations, Purchasing, Production, and Ownership
- Supporting new product development and continuous product improvement
- Identifying opportunities to improve fit, efficiency, and manufacturing consistency
- Helping develop standardized processes and documentation that strengthen our manufacturing operation
What Success Looks Like
During Your First 30 Days
You'll become familiar with our products, manufacturing process, software systems, and production workflow while taking ownership of updates to existing patterns and production markers.
Within 90 Days
You'll confidently manage pattern revisions, fittings, marker creation, BOM development, and production documentation while collaborating closely with our production team.
Within Six Months
You'll be the company's primary in-house expert for pattern drafting, grading, and marker development, reducing outside dependency while improving production efficiency and accuracy.
By Your First Year
You'll independently manage all production pattern functions, contribute to continuous process improvements, support new product development, and help Benchmark FR continue delivering industry-leading protective apparel.
What We're Looking For
We're searching for someone who combines technical expertise with a passion for continuous improvement.
Our ideal candidate is:
- Experienced with digital pattern making (Tukatech and Tukamark)
- Skilled in grading, marker creation, and production specifications
- Familiar with Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Experienced working in apparel manufacturing
- Comfortable collaborating across multiple departments
- Organized, detail-oriented, and highly accountable
- A proactive problem solver who enjoys improving processes
- Self-motivated, decisive and capable of managing priorities independently
- You must be able to commute to Santa Ana, CA
Experience with automated cutting systems is a significant advantage.

Compensation & Benefits
Benchmark FR offers a competitive salary of approximately $74,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to grow with a respected American manufacturer committed to excellence.
