Full Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Installation: Install fire alarm systems on a variety of commercial and residential properties, from new construction to tenant finish and retrofit projects.
Inspection, Testing & Maintenance (ITM): Perform scheduled inspections, functional testing, and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems including smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, notification appliances, and control panels. Document all results accurately and provide reports to supervisors.
Service & Troubleshooting: Diagnose, repair, and resolve issues with fire alarm systems and life safety equipment. Identify root causes of system faults or failures, determine appropriate solutions, and repair or replace faulty components promptly to restore system reliability.
Ensure all work complies with NFPA 72, local codes, and FireTech quality standards. // Provide technical support and guidance to clients on the proper operation and maintenance of their fire protection systems. Address client questions and concerns professionally, delivering clear explanations and practical solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with a team of technicians and field supervisors to solve problems and deliver solutions on schedule.
Work independently when required, managing your time effectively to complete jobs within allotted windows.
Complete and transmit daily work orders, inspection reports, and job documentation using company software and mobile devices.
Communicate project issues, delays, or concerns to the admin team promptly and clearly.
Adhere to all company safety policies to protect yourself, your team, and our clients at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role requires the physical ability to perform the following on a regular basis:

Climb and work safely from ladders and elevated surfaces.
Work in confined spaces, crawl spaces, attics, and mechanical rooms.
Lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
Perform work in varying weather and environmental conditions.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

3+ years of experience in the fire alarm or life safety industry (required).
Demonstrated experience across installation, service, and/or inspection of fire alarm systems (required).
Working knowledge of NFPA 70, 72, and related codes (required).
Current State of Alaska Level 2 Fire Alarm Systems License (required).
NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level 2 Certification (required).
Proficient with smartphones and tablets for completing and transmitting inspection documents.
Able to communicate professionally with managers, customers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
Valid driver’s license required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT

5+ years of hands-on fire alarm experience.
Currently holds a NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level 3 Certification.
Experience inspecting and testing fire alarm systems.
Experience working on a variety of fire alarm system brands, across both conventional and addressable systems.
Experience working on fire sprinkler systems, special hazard systems, or other fire protection systems.
Valid State of Alaska Fire Extinguisher License.
Enthusiasm for professional development, emerging technologies, and process improvement.

SCHEDULE & WORK LOCATION

Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts. Occasional weekend and after-hours work required for emergency service calls.
On-call rotation is part of this role; specific scheduling details will be discussed during the interview.
Work is primarily local to the Anchorage, AK area. Some travel to regional job sites may be required.

WHAT WE OFFER

Competitive hourly pay: $40.00–$50.00/hr DOE, plus overtime pay and bonus opportunities.
