Inside Sales & Ecommerce Support

Company Overview

Rural Energy Enterprises (REE) provides heating products, technical support, and customer solutions throughout Alaska and beyond. Our team supports customers through direct sales, ecommerce operations, technical coordination, and product support while maintaining a strong reputation for customer service and industry knowledge.

REE operates in a fast-paced environment where employees are expected to work independently, stay adaptable, and contribute across multiple areas of the business when needed.

Position Summary

REE is seeking a motivated and detail- oriented Inside Sales & Ecommerce Support to support customer sales, ecommerce operations, website maintenance, and general office operations. This role serves as a primary point of contact for customers both in-person and online while helping ensure orders, product information, and customer communications are processed accurately and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable balancing customer service, technical product conversations, order processing, and backend website management. This position works closely with operations, technical support, warehouse staff, and management to support day-to-day business operations.

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to identify productive work independently during slower periods.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct customer support in person, over the phone, and through online communication channels.
Process customer orders through our website, phone, and walk-in sales channels.
Monitor and track shipments from multiple warehouse locations using Sage reporting tools.
Handle customer returns and generate RMA documentation as needed.
Assist with ecommerce product page updates, product descriptions, metadata, and general website content maintenance using AI-assisted workflows.
Create and maintain product listings and assist with general website optimization initiatives.
Assist with basic website maintenance tasks including redirects, product updates, and content organization.
Assist customers with basic technical product questions and coordinate advanced issues with technical staff.
Build stove pipe and venting system quotes for heating appliance customers.
Support sales promotions, marketing communications, and customer outreach efforts.
Collaborate with warehouse, technical, and operations staff to support company objectives.
Assist with freight unloading, inventory support, and will-call orders when necessary.

Daily / Weekly Duties

Respond to customer phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries.
Enter and process customer orders accurately within company systems.
Monitor order statuses and shipping reports.
Update website product information, images, and metadata.
Coordinate with technical staff regarding customer troubleshooting needs.
Maintain organized records and customer communications.
Assist with operational support tasks and cross-department support as needed.

Required Qualifications

Strong customer service and communication skills.
Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn business software systems.
Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and strong time management skills.
Ability to work independently and remain productive with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate professionally with customers during both positive and difficult interactions.
Ability to occasionally lift and move small products or customer orders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ecommerce platforms or website content management.
Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar AI-assisted productivity platforms.
Experience with Sage300 or similar ERP/accounting software.
Familiarity with heating products, venting systems, or related technical sales.
Experience using Adobe Photoshop or similar design tools.
Warehouse, shipping, or inventory experience.
CPR certification preferred but not required.
