Full Job Description

Alaska Imaging Associates is in search of a new full-time team member in the position of Patient Coordinator/Scheduler. Alaska Imaging is a company focused on professional and compassionate care of our patients, delivering exceptional imaging services to the Alaska community. We are excited to speak with you on how you would enhance our team!

This position performs patient scheduling, registration, assistance with prior-authorizations, payment collection of deductibles, co-pays & coinsurance at the time of service and answering incoming phone calls with a smile.

This is a full time, 40 hour per week non-exempt benefit eligible position. Hours are between 9:15AM and 5:45PM Monday through Friday.

Job Duties

Scheduling Patients: Schedule all procedures performed at the practice and explain all pre-exam requirements.
Computer Skills: Operation of computer, printer, copier, scanner is some of the equipment though not inclusive.
Registration of Patients: register all patients that have been referred for procedures at the practice, schedule all procedures that have been ordered with a high degree of accuracy and completeness. Collect payments at time of service.
Customer Service: Always greet patients in person as well as on the phone with a smile. Assist with the needs of the patients, physicians, and staff. Demonstrate professionalism at all times.
Communication: Answers incoming phone calls, patient questions, referring practices questions in regard to their patients with a professional and pleasant attitude. Routes calls to the appropriate person or takes messages.
Written Communication: updating patient information, medical records requests, correspondence to patients and referral sources.
Insurance Pre-Authorizations: Assist with obtaining prior authorizations for procedures in a timely manner. This will involve communicating with insurance companies, patients, and providers in order to have the authorization by the time the procedure is scheduled.
Other Duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

2+ years of medical office experience.
High school diploma or equivalent education.
Ability to follow the protocols of the organization.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience with medical prior authorization process.
Ability to work independently.
Have a team member mentality is a must.
knowledge of computers, multi-line phone systems and commonly used office equipment.
Ability to multi-task.
Manage time to improve efficiency.
Dependable attendance is a requirement.
Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Ability to remain organized and to show professionalism in work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
