We're looking for someone who's already built a successful accounting career and would enjoy putting that experience to good use 10–20 hours a week.

Someone who still enjoys the work, but has no desire to go back to 50-hour weeks.

LifeHelp has quietly served clients for over 50 years.

We're privately owned, financially stable, and built for the long game. We believe in simply doing good work, treating people well, and building something we're proud of.

Why This Job Exists

We don't need another full-time accountant.

We need an experienced accounting professional who can back up our Controller across the handful of functions where experience matters most.

We're a small company with a stable accounting department. The workload genuinely fits within 10–20 hours per week—we're simply looking to add experience, redundancy, and peace of mind to a few critical areas of the business.

In short, we're looking for someone we can trust.

What You'll Do

Lead month-end close activities and prepare draft financial statements.
Reconcile corporate and trust bank accounts.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and trust accounting workflows.
Process payroll, payroll tax payments, and related remittances.
Help supervise and support the accounting staff.
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits and financial reviews.
Help strengthen accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone with at least five years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with:

Month-end close
Financial reporting
Payroll processing
Account reconciliations
Audit support

Additional qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred (CPA not required).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to learn new accounting software quickly.
Experience supervising accounting staff, trust accounting, or the insurance/TPA industry is a plus.
