Job Title – Regional Sales Representative
This position offers a competitive base salary plus a commission structure based on sales performance.
The Regional Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth within an assigned territory by promoting and selling flexible packaging products, industrial bags, and packaging machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of the company's history, products, materials, and customer service standards to effectively assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions. The Regional Sales Representative develops new business opportunities, maintains customer relationships, and provides consultative support to help customers improve their packaging operations while achieving sales objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth objectives.
- Prospect, develop, and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers to promote flexible packaging products, industrial bags, and packaging machinery.
- Conduct product presentations, machinery demonstrations, and sales consultations; assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Manage the sales process from lead generation through contract negotiation, closing, and account development.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, reports, customer records, and pipeline activity using company systems and tools.
- Monitor customer needs, market trends, and competitive activity to identify business opportunities and expand expansion.
- Develop reseller relationships and support channel partners in growing customer accounts.
- Collaborate with customer service, accounting, shipping, and operations teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in trade shows, industry events, and training programs to enhance product knowledge and support sales and marketing initiatives.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to conduct customer visits, prospecting activities, account reviews, and follow-up support while ensuring compliance with company quality, safety, and administrative requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
- May assist with internal and external customer functions.
- Provide leadership and training to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Comply with all company policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities tosupervisor and/or Safety Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3–5 years of outside sales experience in a similar role.
- Proven ability to sell both consumable packaging products and capital equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of sales techniques, consultative solution selling, packaging and machinery applications, and industry best practices.
- Outstanding written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and drive successful sales outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, customer accounts, and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
