Responsibilities:

Evaluate and assess patients to determine their specific prosthetic and orthotic needs.
Design and fabricate custom prosthetic and orthotic devices using advanced technology and materials.
Fit and adjust devices to ensure optimal comfort, functionality, and alignment.
Provide comprehensive patient education on the use and care of devices.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient treatment plans.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in prosthetic and orthotic technology and practices.
Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Provide on-call service in a scheduled rotation for evenings and weekend trauma for local hospitals

Requirements:

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Proficiency in performing physical examinations and assessing patient needs
Strong patient service skills and ability to provide compassionate care
Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC), or
A baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or the foreign equivalent, and current ABC Board-Eligibility in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics.
In states where licensure is required, the ability to obtain and maintain state licensure may be required as well
A valid driver's license
