Bring your dog to work? That’s right.
If you LOVE dogs, enjoy helping others, like a fast-moving workday, and take pride in doing the little things right, then Dogtopia of Ankeny may be the place for you.
Dogtopia is the industry leader in dog daycare, boarding, and spa services, and we are preparing to open a brand-new location in Ankeny. We are looking for energetic, dependable, dog-loving team members who are excited to help us build something from the ground up.
We are currently hiring for the Rover position. The Rover is one of the most important support roles in the facility. This person helps keep the day running smoothly by moving throughout the daycare, supporting Canine Coaches, helping with cleaning, assisting with dog movement, restocking supplies, communicating between areas, and stepping in wherever the team needs help.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of a team, likes variety, and wants an active role where no two days feel exactly the same. No prior dog daycare experience is required. We provide extensive training and will teach you how to safely and confidently work around dogs in a structured daycare environment.
At Dogtopia of Ankeny, we are intent on setting people up for success, by matching a person’s strengths and talents with the right job. When that happens, it’s a win for our people and our organization.
As part of our efforts to do that, we ask candidates to complete two assessments: The Predictive Index Behavioral and Cognitive Assessments.
The assessments take about (six)/(20) minutes in total to complete, and reveal a person’s natural, hard-wired strengths and learning style and from that, more about which roles in our organization would be the best fit for you.
These assessments do not provide a yes or no answer on any candidate, and are merely one part of our process of getting to know candidates better.

At Dogtopia, daycare is about much more than simply watching dogs play. Our team creates a safe, clean, fun, and educational environment where dogs can learn, socialize, and make their BFFFs — Best Furry Friends Forever. We also make the daycare experience special through events like treat days, themed photo days, slumber parties, and other fun activities for our pups and Pet Parents.
Because this is a new location, every team member will play an important role in helping create the culture, routines, and guest experience at Dogtopia of Ankeny. As a Rover, you will help connect the different parts of the facility by supporting the playrooms, front desk, cleaning routines, dog movement, restocking, communication, and daily operations.
High-performing team members may have opportunities to grow into Canine Coach, Lead Rover, Canine Coach Trainer, front desk, spa, or management-track roles as our location becomes established.
All employees must be 18 years or older.
