About Evaluation Strategies

Evaluation Strategies is a woman-owned evaluation firm serving education and human-service organizations at the local, state, and federal levels. We provide program evaluation, grant writing, grant reporting, survey research, strategic planning, and technical assistance. Our work includes quantitative and qualitative research, data collection and analysis, focus groups, partnership evaluation, benchmarking, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.

Position Overview

Evaluation Strategies is seeking a highly organized Research Associate to design and manage education and social-service evaluation projects under the direction of a senior evaluator. The Research Associate will lead or support three to five projects simultaneously, collaborate directly with clients, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, prepare reports, and contribute to grant and proposal development.

This position offers flexible hours and the ability to work from home. The successful candidate must be available for client meetings and conference calls during regular business hours and able to attend in-person meetings in Detroit, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

Lead or participate on evaluation teams throughout all phases of a project.
Coordinate and manage evaluation activities for three to five projects.
Develop evaluation designs, work plans, timelines, procedures, surveys, and other data-collection instruments.
Collect, manage, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
Prepare evaluation reports, literature reviews, fact sheets, presentations, agendas, summaries, and other written materials.
Schedule and coordinate client and internal evaluation-team meetings.
Support grant writing, proposal development, and required program reporting.
Provide clients with technical assistance, consultation, and training related to evaluation, organizational development, and data collection.
Oversee data collection, review, entry, and editing activities when needed.
Maintain accurate project files, documentation, and supporting materials.
Contribute to client development and new business opportunities.
Build positive, professional relationships with clients and team members.
Supervise staff members, interns, or students when assigned.
Manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in social science, education, public health, psychology, or a related field.
At least three years of relevant professional experience or extensive related graduate-level training.
Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation methods.
Experience designing and conducting evaluations in education or human-service settings.
Proficiency in SPSS and statistical methods ranging from descriptive analysis to more advanced modeling.
Experience developing surveys and other data-collection and measurement tools.
Experience interpreting and communicating findings to diverse stakeholder groups.
Experience with grant writing and proposal development.
Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and presentation skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute effectively within a collaborative team.
Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, professionalism, and comfort using technology.
Ability to travel for work assignments and attend in-person meetings in Detroit.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
