Full Job Description

About the Role

We are assisting an ASE member who is looking for a customer-service-oriented HR Administrative Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis. This role serves as a welcoming point of contact at the HR desk, providing administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. This is a temporary position for appx. 8 weeks on site in Ann Arbor, MI.

What You'll Do

Promote positive relations between HR and all visitors
Answer employee questions relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to senior-level HR staff or management
Support the planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations
Provide departmental support with mail services, appointment scheduling, and conference scheduling
Perform data entry and assist with tracking and maintaining departmental records, reports, and information systems
Process work invoices, reimbursement requests, expense reports, purchase orders, etc.
Attend meetings and keep minutes as needed
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR files, records, and documentation
Perform periodic audits of HR files and records
Update employee information regarding changes in status, contact details, etc.
Maintain employee communication channels, including in-person, phone, fax, and email
Distribute company announcements and updates
Receive and respond to Verification of Employment requests
Assist with various required reports, documents, and activities

What We're Looking For

Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
1-3 years of administrative, HR, or office support experience
Strong customer service orientation — a friendly, approachable presence for employees who stop by the HR desk
Excellent multitasking ability — comfortable managing frequent interruptions while staying organized and on task
High level of confidentiality and discretion — trusted to handle sensitive employee and company information
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
