Pool Service Technician
After you successfully complete your 1 week of paid training ($10/hr.), we will plan to ramp you up week by week, as you are ready, to where you will be earning $700+ each week ($700 x 52 = $36,400/year). You will then be eligible for consistent raises. If you commit three years of your life to doing consistent, hard, quality work, then we will transform your life for the better. At the end of three years, our plan is to have you earning a run rate of earning $49,000/year, including bonuses. You are welcome to stay with us, potentially grow within the company, or launch yourself into your future career. All we ask is that when it is time to go, that you put in a professional two-week notice and work strong all the way to the finish line.
We are Cool Pool People, located in Frisco, Texas.
You will Work independently, but have strong support. You will get paid for the work you actually do.
Cool Pool People is looking for dependable, hardworking people to join our team as a Pool Service Technician.
You do not need pool experience. We can teach you pools.
What we can't teach as easily is work ethic, dependability, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the desire to take pride in your work.
We've been serving North Texas families for nearly two decades, and we've built our reputation by taking care of our clients and the people who take care of them.
You will be eligible for Benefits Worth Talking About after 90 days of employment.
We believe hard work should come with great benefits and time to enjoy life outside of work.
Our benefits include:
- Health, dental and vision insurance
- 401(k) with 100% company match up to 4% of your income.
- You will have a full PAID week off for Thanksgiving, and a full PAID week off for Christmas.
- Training is paid. The work is consistent, year-round work (we do not do seasonal work).
- You will be managing an established weekly pool route. There is additional compensation for pools on your route requiring additional tasks.
- There is ongoing technical training, customer service training and opportunities to grow. Pour yourself into this position as a Pool Care Technician for 3 years and we will transform your life for the better.
After one year of employment, team members are also eligible for additional benefits, including:
- Quarterly Bonus and Additional paid time off.
We basically shut down for the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas. We work hard, basically nonstop, so we designate that time to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas with your family and friends and come back rested and ready to go!
If You Have Pool Experience, You'll appreciate this.
You already know: not every pool is the same.
We pay accordingly.
Our technicians are paid per task rather than hourly, and we've intentionally built our compensation around the work required at each pool. A vast majority of our pools pay the same, but there are a few that require extra work, and you will earn extra money. If a pool or filter cleaning requires additional work, such as maintaining an in-floor cleaning system or backwashing or cleaning a salt cell, you are paid additional money for that work.
We respect your time in other ways, too.
You're not paid to drive from pool to pool, so we're very cognizant of drive time when building routes. We work hard to keep routes tight and efficient rather than sending technicians all over North Texas.
We Set You Up to Do Your Job
Your job is to take great care of the pools on your route. Our job is to make sure you have what you need to do it properly.
We have a great support team behind our technicians and a fully stocked operation.
You aren't expected to spend your day running to distributors to pick up chemicals, parts or supplies. We handle that support so you can stay focused on your route.
You'll also have experienced team leads, management and our in-house repair team available when you need help troubleshooting something in the field.
You work independently, but you aren't out there on your own.
We Hand-Select Our Clients, Too
This is something we're proud of.
We hand-select our clients and make sure they are a good fit for our company and our team. We want the backyards you enter every week to be safe, respectful and hospitable places for you to work.
We don't believe every pool has to be our pool.
We want great clients who value what our technicians do, just as much as we want great technicians representing Cool Pool People.
What You'll Do
You'll manage an established weekly route of approximately 50 residential pools, primarily in Frisco.
Your responsibilities include:
- Mandatory Monday and Friday am meetings at 7:15 am. Start on your own each day Tuesday to Thursday, no later than 8 am.
- Cleaning and maintaining residential swimming pools
- Testing and balancing water chemistry
- Inspecting equipment and identifying potential problems
- Maintaining pool cleaning systems
- Backwashing when required
- Communicating professionally with clients and our office.
- Documenting each visit through our service app
- Taking ownership of your route and the quality of your work
This Job Is Hard — And We Want to Be Upfront About That
This is physical, outdoor work in Texas.
There will be extremely hot days. There will be cold days. There will be rain. There will be days when you're tired and still have pools left on your route.
This job requires a work ethic that understands one simple thing:
The job needs to get done.
This is not an hourly position. Our technicians are paid respectfully per task for the work they complete. That gives you independence and rewards people who learn their routes, work efficiently and take ownership of getting the job done correctly.
Efficiency matters, but quality always comes first.
We're looking for people who can work hard, work smart and keep going when the day gets challenging.
Who Does Well Here?
Our best technicians:
- Show up and can be counted on
- Take pride in doing things correctly
- Work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Are mechanically inclined
- Have strong attention to detail and are good at communication
- Don't need someone constantly looking over their shoulder
- Are comfortable working independently
- Treat our clients and their homes with respect
- Ask questions and want to keep learning
- Help their teammates when needed
- Have the mental toughness to push through difficult days
We are looking for someone who wants this to be their primary job, not a side hustle. Our routes require consistency, reliability and commitment, and we have found that this position works best for someone who is ready to make it their priority.
Location Matters
Our routes are primarily in Frisco.
If you live outside of Frisco or the immediate surrounding area, we generally do not recommend applying.
Because this is a route-based position and you're not paid for your commute to our service area, a long drive to and from Frisco can quickly make the position a poor fit.
We'd rather be upfront about that before you apply.
Experience Is Great. Character Matters More.
Pool service experience is absolutely valuable, but experience is not required.
We do a motor vehicle check and background check on every employee.
We provide paid training and can teach someone how to properly maintain a swimming pool.
We're much more interested in finding someone with the right work ethic, mechanical aptitude, integrity and attitude.
Why Cool Pool People?
We aren't looking for someone to simply fill a route.
We're looking for people who want to become part of a team, learn their craft and build something long-term with us.
You'll have an established route, thoughtfully planned drive times, additional compensation for additional work, stocked supplies, experienced people to call when you need help, great clients, year-round employment, strong benefits and opportunities to continue growing. Paid weekly by ACH.
We take our work seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously.
Our clients trust us with their homes and pools every week. We trust our technicians to represent Cool Pool People when we're not standing beside them.
We are very transparent about pay from day one. We clearly explain how our pay structure works, what your route will look like and what you can expect from us—no inflated promises and no surprises.
If you're dependable, mechanically minded, enjoy working outside and take pride in finishing what you start, we'd love to meet you.
