Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced and knowledgeable Instructors to teach skilled trades, specifically in Plumbing, Pipe Fitting, and Sheet Metal. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in these trades and possess the ability to effectively instruct and mentor students. This role involves delivering hands-on training and theoretical instruction to prepare students for careers in these essential trades. A master license is preferred; however, individuals with a valid Journey worker license will also be considered. The schedule involves a flexible teaching plan, typically requiring full-time (40 hours) instruction ONE week per month over a period of four to five months. 8am - 4:30pm.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive instruction in plumbing, pipe fitting, and sheet metal trades through practical demonstrations and classroom teaching. Our program utilizes the NCCER curriculum National Center for construction education and research.
Develop lesson plans that align with industry standards and educational objectives.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support skill development.
Maintain a safe learning environment by adhering to safety protocols and industry best practices.
Collaborate with program coordinators to ensure curriculum relevance and effectiveness.
Stay updated on the latest industry trends, codes, and regulations related to skilled trades.
Participate in training sessions or workshops as needed to enhance teaching skills and technical knowledge.

Qualifications

Proven experience in plumbing, pipe fitting, or sheet metal trades with strong technical expertise.
NCCER Instructor certs are a plus
A master license is preferred; candidates with a <PERSON> license will also be considered.
Prior teaching or instructing experience is advantageous but not mandatory; relevant industry experience is essential.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop engaging lesson plans.
Flexibility to accommodate a schedule that involves full-time instruction one week per month over several months.
Commitment to safety standards and fostering a positive learning environment.
