Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects, fabrication shop tasks, and custom metalwork. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse materials and techniques, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications and procedures.
Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
Fabricate metal structures and components using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment.
Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds.
Assemble fabricated parts through welding, mechanical fastening, or other methods while maintaining safety protocol adherence.
Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide fabrication processes involving sheet metal, metal materials, and mechanical components.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to construction site activities, welding operations, and equipment handling.

Requirements

Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures in industrial environments.
Proficiency in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately.
Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and metal materials in a fabrication shop or construction setting.
Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math, and interpreting technical drawings for precise fabrication.
Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, machining tools, and assembly processes.
Familiarity with crane operation is a plus; ability to work efficiently on construction sites or fabrication shops while adhering to safety standards.
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of interpreting technical specifications accurately.
