Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our passionate non-profit organization. In this vital role, you will lead efforts to secure funding by researching, developing, and submitting compelling grant proposals that align with our mission and strategic goals. Your expertise will help us expand programs, strengthen community impact, and sustain our organization’s growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator with exceptional writing skills and a strong understanding of nonprofit funding landscapes, eager to make a meaningful difference through strategic fundraising initiatives.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporate donors using databases and other resources.
Develop clear, persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate program goals, outcomes, and organizational needs through technical and creative writing.
Manage the entire grant application process, including proposal writing, editing, proofreading, and submission deadlines.
Maintain detailed records of grants submitted, funded projects, and reporting requirements within grant management databases such as Raiser's Edge or similar systems.
Collaborate with program staff to gather accurate data for proposals and reports; support program development and strategic planning efforts.
Prepare comprehensive financial reports and budgets to accompany grant applications and post-award reports, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
Oversee contract management processes related to grants, including reviewing contracts for compliance and tracking deliverables.

Qualifications

Proven experience in grant proposal writing within the nonprofit sector, demonstrating strong research and persuasive writing skills.
Familiarity with contract management principles and experience working with contracts related to grants or partnerships.
Proficiency in databases such as Raiser's Edge or comparable fundraising software for tracking grants and donor information.
Excellent editing, proofreading, and technical writing skills with attention to detail.
Ability to develop budgets, financial reports, and program development plans aligned with organizational goals.
Strong research skills to identify new funding opportunities; strategic planning experience is a plus.
Knowledge of fundraising best practices combined with effective communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
