WELCOME! ¡BIENVENIDOS!
Evergreen Bilingual Learning Center is a family-owned, Christian, Spanish-immersion preschool serving children from six weeks through kindergarten age.
Our mission is to provide children with a safe, loving, faith-filled environment where they can grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Our educational approach is bilingual, Montessori-inspired, and centered on meaningful relationships with children and families.
We are seeking a dependable, flexible, and experienced Bilingual Floater Teacher who can confidently support multiple classrooms and age groups throughout the school day.
ABOUT THE FLOATER TEACHER POSITION
Our Floater Teacher is an essential member of the Evergreen team. This position provides classroom coverage during staff breaks, planning periods, absences, meetings, and changes in enrollment or staffing needs.
Unlike a teacher assigned permanently to one classroom, the Floater Teacher must be prepared to work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and Pre-K children. Classroom assignments and schedules may change throughout the day according to the needs of the school.
The ideal candidate is observant, adaptable, nurturing, organized, and able to enter a classroom, learn its routine quickly, and provide continuity of care without disrupting the children’s environment.
RELIABILITY IS ESSENTIAL
Consistent attendance is one of the most important responsibilities of this position. Young children depend on familiar caregivers to feel safe, families depend on us so they can work, and coworkers depend on every team member to maintain proper supervision and classroom coverage.
Because the Floater Teacher provides essential coverage throughout the campus, an absence or late arrival can affect multiple classrooms, staff breaks, teacher-to-child ratios, and the operation of the entire school.
Please do not apply if you frequently arrive late, have unreliable transportation, regularly miss scheduled work, or are unable to commit to a consistent Monday–Friday schedule. Emergencies can happen to anyone, but dependable attendance, punctuality, responsible communication, flexibility, and follow-through are non-negotiable expectations at Evergreen.
This position is best suited for someone who understands that caring for children is not casual work—it is a professional commitment to children, families, coworkers, and the entire school community.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Floater Teacher, you will:
- Provide classroom coverage during staff breaks, absences, meetings, training, and planning periods.
- Work with children ranging in age from six weeks through five years.
- Adapt quickly to different classrooms, age groups, teaching styles, schedules, and daily routines.
- Maintain active supervision and accurate teacher-to-child ratios at all times.
- Complete name-to-face counts during classroom transitions and whenever assuming responsibility for a group.
- Create a safe, loving, organized, and engaging environment for children.
- Support bilingual, age-appropriate lessons, activities, music, movement, outdoor play, and hands-on learning.
- Assist with meals, bottles, diapering, toileting, rest time, classroom transitions, and self-help skills.
- Follow individual classroom schedules and directions provided by Lead Teachers and campus leadership.
- Complete accurate Brightwheel updates, photos, care records, and incident documentation when assigned.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, coworkers, and leadership.
- Use positive guidance techniques and help children develop emotional regulation and appropriate social skills.
- Help prepare, clean, sanitize, organize, open, or close classrooms as assigned.
- Learn and follow Evergreen’s health, safety, emergency, confidentiality, and child-release procedures.
