Patterson Mold and Tool, LLC in St. Charles, MO, is a leading provider of precision tooling, servicing the die cast, injection molding, and aerospace industries. We handle everything from small repairs and engineering changes to large, complex die builds. We are committed to staying current with technology and providing excellent customer service. Rate of pay will be based on skill and experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Operator/Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machining centers used to manufacture precision graphite components. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong machining knowledge, programming experience, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate CNC machining centers for graphite components.
Create and optimize CNC programs to improve cycle times and part quality.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
Select tooling, work holding, and machining strategies for graphite materials.
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
Make program and tooling adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Troubleshoot machining, programming, and equipment issues.
Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean.
Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
Follow all safety, quality, and company policies.

Qualifications

Required:

3+ years of CNC machining experience.
2+ years of CNC programming experience.
Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
Experience with G-code programming.
Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Mitsubishi, or similar.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred:

Experience machining graphite or other non-metallic materials.
Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, NX, Work NC, or similar).
Experience with 3 or 4 axis CNC machining.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
