Kitchen Manager

Teller's Taproom & Kitchen Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per year (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team, drive operational excellence, and foster a positive, high-performing kitchen culture.

Position Summary

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all back-of-house operations, including food quality, kitchen staffing, inventory management, food cost controls, training, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role works closely with restaurant leadership to ensure operational success and an outstanding guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and motivate the kitchen team to achieve operational excellence
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and execution of all menu items
Manage food and labor costs while maximizing profitability
Oversee inventory, ordering, receiving, and waste reduction initiatives
Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards
Create and maintain organized, clean, and efficient kitchen operations
Train and develop team members to support growth and retention
Assist with scheduling and staffing to meet business demands
Partner with restaurant leadership to foster a positive, team-oriented culture
Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management of kitchen staff

Qualifications

2+ years of kitchen management or culinary leadership experience
Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and kitchen operations
Proven ability to manage food costs, inventory, and labor budgets
Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Passion for hospitality, team development, and delivering exceptional guest experiences

Preferred Qualifications

ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain)
Experience with inventory and scheduling systems
High-volume restaurant experience

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary: $70,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience
