Scientific Program Analyst

National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) Rockville, MD (Hybrid Eligible) Salary: $65,000 - $125,000 per year Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week

About the Opportunity

A-Team Solutions is seeking experienced Scientific Program Analysts to support the Division of Clinical Research (DCR) at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This position provides scientific, programmatic, and administrative support for research initiatives, clinical research programs, grants management activities, portfolio analysis, scientific communications, and strategic program planning.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong scientific background, excellent analytical and communication skills, and experience supporting research programs, clinical trials, grants, or scientific initiatives in a government, academic, or research environment.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Program Support

Support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of scientific research programs and initiatives.
Collaborate with Program Directors and scientific staff on new and ongoing projects.
Assist with scientific program management activities and administrative award processing.
Serve as a programmatic point of contact for investigators, stakeholders, and research staff.

Research Analysis & Literature Review

Conduct literature reviews using PubMed, Web of Science, and other scientific databases.
Research, interpret, analyze, and summarize scientific publications, reports, and background materials.
Develop scientific search strategies and compile information from various scientific resources.
Prepare summaries, briefing materials, and analytical reports for leadership and program staff.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Analyze research portfolios, grants, and program data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
Develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, SharePoint sites, and data analytics tools.
Prepare graphs, charts, dashboards, scientific reports, presentations, and portfolio analyses.
Track project milestones, deliverables, action items, and program performance metrics.

Scientific Communications

Draft, edit, proofread, and format scientific and programmatic documents.
Prepare meeting materials, agendas, briefing books, abstracts, posters, presentations, and reports.
Develop content for senior leadership presentations and program updates.
Maintain repositories of scientific resources, reports, and supporting documentation.

Meeting & Conference Management

Coordinate scientific meetings, workshops, conferences, symposia, lectures, and special events.
Manage meeting logistics, communications, registrations, and participant coordination.
Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, participant materials, and post-meeting reports.
Support interactions with external investigators, distinguished speakers, and stakeholders.

Project & Portfolio Management

Provide project management support for complex scientific initiatives.
Track project activities, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
Develop strategies and recommendations to improve program effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Assist with special studies, portfolio analyses, and strategic planning efforts.

Database & SharePoint Management

Develop, maintain, and improve SharePoint sites and other information management systems.
Create and maintain databases for scientific, grants, and program information.
Support data retrieval, reporting, and document management activities.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting tools and business processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Neuroscience or a related scientific discipline.
Strong scientific writing, editing, and analytical skills.
Experience conducting literature reviews and scientific research analyses.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Experience working with scientific data, reports, presentations, and databases.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of NIH grants, cooperative agreements, and federal funding mechanisms.
Experience supporting clinical research, clinical trials, or biomedical research programs.
Knowledge of Human Subjects Research Protection and research compliance requirements.
Experience with portfolio analysis, program evaluation, and strategic planning.
Experience coordinating scientific workshops, conferences, or advisory committee meetings.
Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, WebEx, SharePoint, and data analytics tools.
